WOW your engines has been in and out as much as mine was last year!!!

How easy is it going to be to fit the rover lump?? Im guessing custom mounts, different bellhousing... can you get away without bulkhead and transmission tunnel mods?

hopefully the offer of the swapsie kit from a good friend is still there.
i was offered an adaptor plate that mates the type 9 to the v8. it also comes with a flywheel and sd1 narrow manifolds too. there will be a few bits needed apparently like a hydraullic clutch although with no knowledge i have no idea why i need it. if im lucky it should just be mounts and ill make em myself. ill see if i can modify the cologne ones with metal v8 plates at the engine end.
i know everyone says how weak the type 9 is but mines been thrashed for 17 years and has survived 174000 miles. apparently a lot of capri tuners use them and have no issues at all. the rover should only have 190 bhp at the max and i wont be stupid with it so i recon i wil be sourcing a nice recon type 9.
im hoping the 3.9 will have tons of torque, the sound should be glorious too. sadly its an efi jobbie but a good friend of mine said if we can get to the range rover the engine is from he'll cut out the loom for me and splice it to my mk2 one. cool eh!!!!!
almost plug and play. ill try and use the pas pump off my car and make brackets to suit the v8 and may try with the alternator too. wont be needing the air con pump so that area may be suitable .

tried taking the car out the other day and it spat a litre of pas fluid on the deck. got me a new high pressure hose in doors so if i get back in time today ill have that fitted asap. just didnt want to be still messing with the damn thing. all i want to do is drive it now!!!!!!!!!!

 damn rover engine..................................its not very good, the internals are a bit pooh!

so its back to square one..................NOT!!!!!!

got me a turbo for the v6 now. its a relic but ive got most the bits for it now :D . still need an oil return line and to work out how the valve thing at the end of the manifold is controlled though. it looks like a bypass pipe or pressure relief thing that diverts pressure into the front pipe..
need to see what goes where too. the carb is an su and is inline . its bolted to the turbo and then feeds through a hard pipe into the inlet manifold. no intercooler or water feed. no dump valve either.
anyone seen this set up on a 2.8 cologne engine??? the turbo is a rotamaster.......yeah,thats what i thought. ive had it all rebuilt and balanced by turbo technics so it as good as ready to fit.
any info on th efitting would be appreciated, pics would be even better.
