Postby Cieran » Wed Jun 16, 2010 10:06 pm

Well i want to lower my ka on Ap Coilovers and maybe put some ronal R10 turbos on. And maybe to finish it off with a bonnet bra :)
i will also apologise for the photo of the rear of the car as it was too bright for my camera to get a decent picture :/

Looks like its going to be an interesting project... dont stick a huge body kit on it though.... it'll only slow you down!!! Maybe go for a weightless diet... remove anything thats not needed???

I AM NOT!!! putting a body kit, im not looking like a nonse lol i want to represent "sefoc" when its all lowered, but yeh its basically looking like that ka and i might paint it white with black bumpers not too sure yet err and im also thinking of stripping the interior totally out and obviously leaving the door handle and the window winder :P

Good to hear :) Nice one!

Best thing that you can do at the moment is "insurance friendly" mods, and concentrate on handling + brakes etc

Drums can look crappy on the back, but do you really need rear discs? Yes they can look cool, but then youve got to sort out some sort of bias system otherwise the rear end will be out braking the fronts. Correct me if im wrong but normally isnt it 70% front braking and 30% rear??

I'm not trying to stomp on your enthusiasm, just trying to help :D What about uprating the disc/pad combination at the front first? Maybe something like greenstuff pads?

Good conversion but i would use the car for a bit longer before modding it because your new to driving..

and insuring modded cars at a young age will be expensive..... 8)

Agreed... the best way to make it go faster with minimal mods (keeping the insurance company happy) would be an air filter, and lighten the car - remove as much as possible! It all depends what you want as I am assuming it will be your daily drive.

If you really want to start modifying then concentrate on the brakes and suspension first. Normally the insurance company arent too bothered by these as you are improving the safety (dont take my word for it though... check first!), however as soon as you touch the engine your premiums will rocket!

We had a member a few years back, think his name was Craig and he had a puma lump in his KA, think he may have sold it now though
