While I was out in Oz, I figured I would chance my luck to see if I could pick up any cheap parts for the escort..... I was there for a month... theres only so many kangeroos that you can see before the novelty wears off...

After 3 attempts (theyve changed premises a few times and some websites still list old addresses) I managed to track them down...and was treated to an Aladin's cave of treasures!!


















This was the prize find... a convertable mk1 escort... hes had it for years but hasnt been to sell it...



Looks like its a properly done conversion(look at the strengthing on the chassis rails!~!!!), apparentally done a for photoshoot campaign back in the day and has been owned by 2 lady owners since...

Nice Track toy - all trick bits are there, just needs assembling and finishing





All in all a good find. I was somewhat limited by what I could carry in my luggage, so an old pair of shoes + trainners were sacrificed... in return I managed to bring back 2x new repro rectangular twin cam/1300e headlights, yet another washer bottle (got a few spares now just in case) and the gearbox sandwich plate I need for the 5 speed conversion.
